رایتینگ آیلتس (Task 2 Advantage and Disadvantage)

These days a large amount of food is transported large distances before it is consumed? What are the advantages and disadvantages of this trend

Paragraph 1 (Introduction)

General Statement

Nowadays, food production has shattered the borderlines between the countries; that is your food supply is being prepared all around the world.

Statement Linking General Statement to the Topic

Therefore, every food supply has to bear a tedious journey before it settles a consumer's kitchen.

Outline

While, there are some pros and cons to this process which will be considered in the following paragraphs.

 Paragraph 2 (Supporting1)

Main Idea

Firstly, this large population on this green planet must be fed in a proper manner, making it mandatory for the nutrients to be delivered from every corner of the globe.

Example

As an illustration, one will not forget the excruciating pain suffered by the people in Ethiopia of the 20th century which was inflicted upon them because of the mere fact the grain could not be provided to them from other fertile lands.

Explanation

(not needed here)

Result

This example clearly shows that the availiblity of food stock from other parts of the world is a merit, making it hard to overlook.

Paragraph 3 (Supporting2)

Main Idea

On the other hand, there is a downside to this issue: Some nations become complacent by the easy delivery of the bread to their country's footstep.

Example

To put some light on it, UAE can be pointed out. Their rich has empowered them to get the caviar on their tables by making a single demand over it.

Explanation

This easy process has pulled the wool over their eyes, and they can barely see a future when their desires are not fulfilled - the very mistake that may make them needy and dependent in the future to come.

Result

As a result it is not clever to overlook the shortcomings of the easy globalized food preparation SCAM.

Paragraph 4 (Conclusion)

Summary

To sum up, there are both some benefits and some hassles, to be considered, over the issue of sending food merchandize over an extended destination.

Thesis Statement

Nevertheless, communities have to be vigilant enough to see the pitfalls as well as the convenience of getting their protein from other territories.

Final Remark

In retrospect, nations should have unveiled some gimmicks into supplying their own mouthful not to have the predicaments they are going through today.

کلمات و عبارات ربطی مورد نیاز در رایتینگ آیلتس (قست دوم)

To get a high score in your IELTS writing use the following connectors in the "Conclusion Paragraph":

otherwise ..., in this case ..., under these circumstances ..., it is likely that ..., in all probability ..., in conclusion ..., therefore ..., consequently ..., it is clear therefore that ..., in other words ..., generally speaking ...,

Usually future tense will be used in the conclusion to give a warning or make a prediction - this way you will be able to finish your essay smoothly. Although, if you intend to finish your essay offering a solution, you would rather use "should" to make a suggestion.

On the other hand remember to use simple present, present progressive and/or present perfect in your "Introduction Paragraph".

Writing Task 2

For Writing Task 2 first you have to pay attention to the writing instruction. The instruction is divided into two parts: Question Topic and Question Task.

Question Topic tells you what you have to write about; whereas, a Question Task tells you how you should write your essay. By checking Question Topic you will be able to decide whom and what you are going to write about; but the Question Task determines your writing style.

Therefore it is vital to know about Question Tasks and the appropriate writing methods to write a well organized essay. You may write: a fact, an opinion, a description, a process, a problem, a solution, an argument, a comparison, a contrast, a cause or an effect writing - or a combination of some of them - depending on the Question Task.

Consequently if the Question Task is: "What is your opinion?", you have to consider both sides of the issue stated in the Question Topic and Compare those opinions. After that you ought to present and justify your own opinion. The same applies to this Question Task: "To what extent do you agree or disagree?".

For a Question Task such as: "Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of ....." every step will be the same as above, except the fact that, you do not need to state your opinion directly.

On the other hand for a Question Task such as: "What are the reasons for ... ? What other measures could be taken to deal with this problem?" you have to present the reasons (causes), and offer solutions.

Similarly for a Question Task like: "What are the causes?" or "What are the effects?", you should  mention the causes and the effects. Other similar questions including,"What factors contribute to ...." ask for a cause and effect writing.

In contrast for a Question Task such as: "Discuss both sides of the views." you had better write a comparison essay comparing both sides of the issue.

sentence writing and paragraph writing

Let’s talk about IELTS writing first:

No matter if you are an Academic or a General Training candidate, you have to be good in sentence writing as well as paragraph writing for both task one and task two. Therefore sentence writing will be the first focus in my explanations.

There are three types of sentences you should use in your writings: simple sentences, compound sentences and complex sentences. Below you can find examples for each type of sentence.

A student should study everyday to improve his IELTS score.

A student should study everyday to improve his IELTS score, and a good teacher can be a great help in directing that student.

A student, who is really serious and is aiming for a high IELTS score, should study everyday to improve his score.

In case you write a combination of those three sentence types in your writing and consider using a variety of “academic vocabularies” and “grammatical structures”, you will be bound to gain an excellent mark.

What about paragraph writing? Well put those sentences explained above together in a logical way and that will be your paragraph. Although that is not about everything yet! You have to consider stating your main idea first in your paragraph and then relating all the other sentences coming forth.

A good paragraph starts with a main idea, which is expressed in the Topic Sentence. Pay attention that “Topic Sentence” is a sentence in your paragraph that contains the main idea, and the main idea is the most important point of your paragraph being talked about or discussed in that paragraph. All the other sentences must support the main idea of the paragraph. If a sentence is not supporting the main idea, that sentence is redundant and must be omitted.

Later on, in my next topic, I will explain the difference between the first paragraph (introductory paragraph) and the last paragraph (concluding paragraph) of the essay with other paragraphs (body or supporting paragraphs).
