To get a high score in your IELTS writing use the following connectors in the "Conclusion Paragraph":
otherwise ..., in this case ..., under these circumstances ..., it is likely that ..., in all probability ..., in conclusion ..., therefore ..., consequently ..., it is clear therefore that ..., in other words ..., generally speaking ...,
Usually future tense will be used in the conclusion to give a warning or make a prediction - this way you will be able to finish your essay smoothly. Although, if you intend to finish your essay offering a solution, you would rather use "should" to make a suggestion.
On the other hand remember to use simple present, present progressive and/or present perfect in your "Introduction Paragraph".

For Writing Task 2 first you have to pay attention to the writing instruction. The instruction is divided into two parts: Question Topic and Question Task.
Question Topic tells you what you have to write about; whereas, a Question Task tells you how you should write your essay. By checking Question Topic you will be able to decide whom and what you are going to write about; but the Question Task determines your writing style.
Therefore it is vital to know about Question Tasks and the appropriate writing methods to write a well organized essay. You may write: a fact, an opinion, a description, a process, a problem, a solution, an argument, a comparison, a contrast, a cause or an effect writing - or a combination of some of them - depending on the Question Task.
Consequently if the Question Task is: "What is your opinion?", you have to consider both sides of the issue stated in the Question Topic and Compare those opinions. After that you ought to present and justify your own opinion. The same applies to this Question Task: "To what extent do you agree or disagree?".
For a Question Task such as: "Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of ....." every step will be the same as above, except the fact that, you do not need to state your opinion directly.
On the other hand for a Question Task such as: "What are the reasons for ... ? What other measures could be taken to deal with this problem?" you have to present the reasons (causes), and offer solutions.
Similarly for a Question Task like: "What are the causes?" or "What are the effects?", you should mention the causes and the effects. Other similar questions including,"What factors contribute to ...." ask for a cause and effect writing.
In contrast for a Question Task such as: "Discuss both sides of the views." you had better write a comparison essay comparing both sides of the issue.
